Poems by Young Adult Mae
September, 1998
Sheen of misty red
on mountains is a sign of
departing summer
April, 2000
White flakes fall onto
faces hoping for spring breeze.
Unwanted surprise.
March, 2000
Breaths of gentle air
stir sweet syrup in each tree;
hope of early spring.
Poems by Older Adult Mae
September, 2023
Trees blush, thinking of
shedding leaves soon. Oh but!
Will be lovely rest.
March, 2022
Icy raindrops on
eyelashes prove that seasons
are not linear.
March, 2022
First fleeting spring day
reminds human souls about
sunshine and hope soon.
